Alex Dixon on cover of Southland Blues Magazine!
Alex Dixon, Vice President at Blues Heaven Foundation, and grandson of the late Willie Dixon, is featured on the cover of the September issue of Southland Blues Magazine. In the feature he discusses the new direction of Blues Heaven Foundation, his CD “The Vintage Room” and upcoming projects.
Alex’s next CD, to be released in early 2009, is his highly anticipated sophmore release. It will feature songs that influenced Alex and he picked some of the best artists he could find to record with him. They include James Gadsen on drums (Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, Paul McCartney), Gerald Johnson on bass (Crosby Stills & Nash, Steve Miller Band – creating the bass line for “The Joker”), Alvino Bennett on drums (Dave Mason Band), BB Chung King on guitar & vocals and Michael Fell on harmonica. The amazing vocals on the CD are belted out by Marcy Levy (Shakespeare’s Sister, Eric Clapton, Chicago Blues Reunion) and soulful David Dills, a truly hidden gem!
STAY TUNED FOR THE FIRST SINGLE RELEASE!
